Kayakers and anglers, in particular, enjoy this area in southwest Nebraska. Three lakes are within a short distance of Benkelman: Rock Creek Lake, Enders Reservoir, and Swanson Reservoir.

Honoring a tradition established in 1903, the citizens of Dundy County gather once a year in late July for an exhibition of outstanding livestock, garden vegetables and fruits, and home-made creations and for a top-notch program of rodeo, stock car racing, hometown carnival, musical performance, free barbecue, games, Supercross racing action, and much more!
A scenic 9-hole course located three miles east of Benkelman along the Republican River. The course has minimal fees, no tee time required and carts available.
